I was trippin’ in Chi {funky} Town!

If it’s going to be about me, we will start with me.
I had a busy week followed by a busy ‘catch-up’ weekend.
But I’m still not caught up. Go figure.

kick poop? Play soccer? I’m slightly confused.

Do you know where I was last week? The Coach swept me off my feet (which is harder than it sounds) for a quick jaunt to Chicago; my favorite city!

I did have a good time, but it was cold. Cold for me. And windy. Seriously, they should call this the windy city!

I had a few moments on one of my days piddling around town where I thought; “10 years ago, I would have flown away right now”. Thank goodness for that ‘over the years weight gain’.

Have I told you how much I love tulips?
Old and new, I like them both.

I finally got to meet up with one of my ‘longest blog’ friends. Chi-town!
She is as sweet and funny in person, ok, maybe even sweeter and funnier. IF that is possible.

We had a great dinner, full of laughter and chattiness…. and surprisingly, no one tried to abduct me, chop me up and sell my organs! Can you imagine? Yeah, you knew some of my organs were almost done already.

It was a fun night…and I can’t wait till they show up on my front door next winter. Lord knows, she won’t show up during the warm seasons.
I heart you Chi! If you have a chance to meet up with a blog friend and you think that perhaps they are NOT serial killers, then do IT!!!!
I wanted to move into the third floor of Crate & Barrel, but the Coach said no. Fun sucker.
This is the store that the Coach would NOT take me into. Do you know, they don’t actually serve breakfast here? Someone’s been lying to us.
This is my favorite city to walk. You know, I became a streetwalker overnight. So much to see. So much to do. So much $ to be made.
for I am guessing that I walked 43 miles the first day. Which is why I deserved a nice lunch.
There we lots of good lunches and dinners…and now it is back to reality. Back to the grind. Back to  work/laundry/cooking/cleaning, general slaving for my family again.
It was fun while it lasted.
So, did you miss me?
I know you did. Stop crying.
Did I miss anything?

  2. Ok, first of all, Mark, I'm sending you a big, wet, sloppy kiss over the interwebs. You just made my day!!Suz, I'm so glad you didn't just lift my post, cuz this one was WAY better! I love it when people adore my city as much as I do. Sorry the weather wasn't so hot, though. If it makes you feel better (not!) it's going to be in the 70s all this week. Hey, just come back! Coach won't mind. Especially if you bring him with you. :)Thanks, again, for such a fun night!

  3. we lived in Chicago for years and loved it indeed 🙂 And suz, I am not kidding when I say that it is the warmest place I have ever lived (which translates into : I have always lived further north, and Chicago seemed mild in comparison! hahaha!)

  6. I am THRILLED that you did this, and even more thrilled that it worked out well. Blog-to-IRL CAN be just as good as we hoped; it CAN! Hooray!I would love to join you, if you do find they are serving Breakfast at Tiffany's. That is a very good point you made, Suz. (I thought he might take you to the Coach store – did he?)Welcome back to the land of Real Housewives (I almost typed \”hosewives\”…hmmm), including laundry, cooking, etc. I am right there with you, and super grateful that you got away with your dear Coachman for a fling!P.S.: If you do take a break from here or fb, PLEASE promise to write occasionally to me privately. A day without Busy Bee Suz is like…night! (I stole that from Steve Martin) xoxox

  7. First off…very weird sign! Does it mean there is a curb? I dunno! Lovely pics…beautiful flowers and architecture. And wind. Ugh, the wind. It's hard to fathom that it's still very much winter'ish in some parts of the country, since we're already pretty hot and humid here. So excited that you got to meet a blog peep. I love that. I would love to meet you (or Dawn or Karen). Any and all. Makes me want to plan a trip to WDW so we can get together. Hmmm. Welcome home…I missed your funny little self while you were away, but glad you had a great trip. I have to go do the dishes now. Sigh…

  8. So glad you enjoyed Chicago. When we lived in Milwaukee, we often took the train down for the day. You're right…it SHOULD be called the windy city. Wonder why no one ever thought of that before?

  9. Sounds like you had a really great time in Chicago. Never been there myself, but would love to one day.Should you ever be in northern AL, I have the best Mexican restaurant to take you to. Their margaritas (pomegranate or mango) are insanely good. 🙂
