Willy Nilly Friday~’The moving on out’ version

1) Linds moved into her dorm on Wednesday; Lolo was here to help as did the Coach. Her dorm is on the third floor; not an elevator in sight and it took several trips up and down with her belongings.
I was in hamstring hell come Thursday.
2) Linds was thrilled to have a full kitchen. Although the conventional stove threw her for a loop.
She has only had a glass top stove at her disposal.
“Mom, how do you turn on the burners?”
Me: “You use this knob to turn on this burner and …..
Linds: “Wait! IS FIRE going to come out of that?”

Laughter from Lolo and I ensued.
3) She may not have mad culinary skills, but she can set a mean table.
Perhaps that wasn’t the best example.
4) She wasn’t completely moved in when I finally left. BUT, her room most likely won’t be any neater than this. ever.
5) Even though she has a full kitchen at her disposal, she still likes the simplicity of sodium.
gag me with a spoon.
I hope she has a wonderful year.
I also hope she doesn’t get arrested, pregnant or any face tattoos.
HA!
Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. I think Nadia might be related to her. 😉 She LOVES Ramen (like you said, gag me with a spoon) and her rooms kinda looks like that, too. I hope Linds has a great year!!

  2. Wishing Linds lots of good times. My childhood friend, Amy, that I attended college with is visiting tomorrow. We usually drive by the college (Cleveland GA) and reminisce. Those were happy, care free times.

  3. Ahhhh—I remember many moons ago when my parents took me to college.. Our car was pack-jammed-full —and that was before computers. I did take my 'stereo' and 'records/albums' with me…. I was also WAY up on the 3rd floor –with no elevator… NO AirConditioning also!!!!! Gads–how did I make it????? Funny about the conventional stove…. That's the only kind I have EVER had and still have… NO—one time we did have a glass top stove which I loved… AND–when this stove dies, we'll probably get a glass topped one (which is easier to clean for sure)….Linds will do great —and luckily, she is not far from home when she NEEDS something!!!!! haHave a great weekend.Hugs,Betsy

  5. Oh, I feel like I'm watching a re-run of moving Amanda into her Sorority House back on July 31! Oh, the stairs, and not an elevator in sight! Does Linds have a little kitchen IN her room?? WOW, how cool! I would like to move into Amanda's Sorority House because they have meals prepared every day in the dining room and somebody else cleans the bathrooms!!!So, Suz, Here we as semi-empty nesters…they're not FAR away, but they're not just down the hall, either. I've controlled the urge to txt every hour…once in the evening to wish her sweet dreams works out, 'cause she txts the same back to me. I just thought of these song lyrics \”Hold on loosely (mom!), but don't let go.\”hugs,liz

  6. The no elevators brings back memories for me! My 1st year at res had me on the third floor with no elevator, but my room didn't have a fancy shmancy kitchen!! Hope she enjoys her home away from home!
