Sleeping Single….

…in a double bed.
Raise your hand if you remember that song.
So a few weeks ago I washed all the covers for our dogs’ beds.
They have two in the family room and two in the living room.
{See how I said they up there?!}
For some reason, I only put the covers back on three….and then on Monday, I finally broke down and put the cover on the fourth one in the living room.
Man, oh man…I had myself a good old fashioned {30 second}cry.
*sigh*

Cocoa is doing better. A little less mopey….although, you can’t tell from THAT face.
I’ve been taking her on walks every morning; something we’ve not done in a long time.

We’re all getting used to our new normal. Life goes on my friends.

Meanwhile, lets spread this ear worm.

Enjoy your day…. I”m off to plug in my hot rollers!

    I know you guys miss Ozzie and Maisy so much. Poor Cocoa; I know the walk was enjoyable. I do remember this song. Daddy was a big BM fan! Enjoy your day.

  2. I don't think I have told you yet how sorry I am for your family in the loss of so many of your pets. We have found out just how sweet the Boxer dog is – – – best ever dog we have had. We love ours a lot but not even near as much as you all loved yours. They do become a beloved family member. Your kitty cat looked like a sweetheart, too. I know your daughter missed the reptile – – but I can't relate to that because those are creatures I avoid if possible.They say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all – – – and I believe it. Even though the hurt of the loss can be horrendous, we did have a LOT of wonderful days with them that far exceed our hurt. However, the grief still takes quite a long time. It's normal. So glad you share with us. We love reading all your posts – – the good days and the occasional sad ones, too.

  3. It's been well over a year, but we still have two beds in the great room and two beds in the den. We still have Ellie's crate in the doggie room and her collar hangs on a peg there. I just can't bear to remove these things yet. The pain does get better, but last week I heard Sara McLachlan singing \”Angel\” while I was driving downtown and the tears came falling again. (Why DO they use those heart-breaking songs in the ads?)

  4. Oh, poor Cocoa. And you. I hope she perks up soon. My daddy got a new puppy for his dog. 😉 I don't know how much Willis is enjoying Bella as her thing to do is grab Willis's back leg or jowls with her puppy teeth and jerk her head back and forth. I guess he's OK with it? Yes, I used to watch the Mandrells TV show. I never could tell if Earlene was really that ditzy or if it was just an act.

    I did the walk thing too when we lost Buddy. Beaux had a hard time. I'm glad you have such good memories, photos and stories of the boys.
