Last week I went on tour with the Coach.
Ok, not so much a tour, but a softball tournament with his travel team.
We flew into Philly, drove to our hotel in NJ and then had games in Pennsylvania.
Which is all foreign to me. Well, not Philly. I was just there a month ago.
The foreign part is seeing lots of different states in one day.
In a car, it would take me 9 hours just to leave my state of Florida.

I had no idea that NJ and PA were so pretty! I feel ashamed that I might not have said nice things about either of those states and only because I was oblivious to the beauty because I’ve not been there.
*Whew*
The weather was mostly nice…..
The coach and I did take a tour of the University of PA; one of his girls is looking to possibly go to school there and play softball.
I’m not sure that I’ve seen a school as beautiful in such a great setting; directly next to a lovely city such as Philly.
And…..I’ve certainly never seen a softball field with such an amazing backdrop as the skyline of Philly.
I was ready to turn back time, learn how to be an awesome softball player and pay attention in school so I could be a LOT smarter and see if I could get into UPenn.
Great. Now I’ve got that *If I could turn back time* song in my head….thanks Cher!
We took the train into NYC one day with the entire team. Since we’re such great planners, we did this on a day where there was a heat wave warning…..a mere 111 degrees.
It felt like our skin was melting as we walked Times Square and then visited Central Park and the Central Park Zoo. I never wanted to be in the Penguin water pool as much in my life…..
I’d like for everyone to know that I did have a philly cheesesteak on this trip to Philly as I didn’t do that last time and I felt like I let down the entire state of PA. My apologies PA.
Now, back the grind that is my awesome life.

Philly cheesesteak – – – YUM! It is yum if it is cooked right – – but of course I can't eat those anymore due to Alpha Gal tick allergy which I have lived with for over a decade now. Oh well — – my cholesterol would be much worse if I could still eat those!You were just in the cities but the mountains of PA are gorgeous – – – – tall but rolling in appearance. I grew up in upstate NY. The mountains there progress from rolling in the southern part to steep and craggy further north.Funny thing about the north – – – summers can get hotter. It's like the summer season is shorter so it has to make up for it some days in intensity – – – and of course big cities are hotter since you aren't in nature with all the trees.

It sounds as if you had a busy — and hot — week in the big cities. I'm glad you finally got your Philly cheesesteak. It's been many years since I've been to either of those cities, and I'm not sure I want to go back. I'll bet you would have been an awesome softball player.

Sounds like a great trip and the view from that softball field would make me think about redoing my entire youth just to go there to play!

Great photos and I am glad you had fun. I was born/raised in PA and it really is a beautiful state. The Susquehanna river runs north/south through gorges and rocks and flatlands all the way through the state and the road that follows allows you to see some breathtaking scenery. My kids are in FL right now- (my 2nd homestate). Hope you have a great night- xo Diana

You enlightened me, too, about the beauty of Philadelphia. I have been to Pennsylvania twice, once to Gettysburg before kids and once to Trout Run before marriage. We rode through lots of country on the way to Trout Run in the dead of winter. I had never seen so much snow in my life! That Philly cheesesteak looks amazing.

Your hubby is so amazing —working with those young softball players like he does. My son used to coach some when his daughters were involved… That must have been an amazing trip for those kids —and you adults!!!!
