I wasn’t even going to post again this week, but then I didn’t want anyone to worry about me. Like, if I was *sick*. Ya, know? See, I do care about your feelings.
Busy, busy, busy. Mostly positive stuff, lots of projects, inside, outside, office, but also some not so fun stuff. Such is life.
The MOST exciting thing that happened this week….are you ready? Can you even stand it? I’m not kidding, it’s phenomenal news! I’m adding in extra exclamation points to get my point across!!
We bought a wedding dress!
She said YES. Although, it would have been a tad fun if Randy Feloni from Say Yes To The Dress had jumped out and surprised us. I do love a good surprise.

Lolo had made some appointments for dress shopping a long time ago, back when the world was only half baked, but then kept changing them as the covid rules were changing. Finally, she made one and said, what the hell, we’ll wear masks and search for a dress!
A little backstory if you will: I was going to post a link here of one or two blog posts where (but I found 47 posts containing the word PROM) I took my girls shopping for prom dresses. I think they each attended 3? (Might I remind everyone on the planet that I did not attend ONE prom. NOT.ONE.) But, my girls were the prom.com. And shopping for dresses was always an adventure because some people are indecisive. Very.indecisive. We would end up buying 2 or 3, bring them home and then think about them. Send pics to Grandparents and vote on them. It was very diplomatic, thought out and of course, a production.
SO, I prepared myself for wedding dress shopping like someone with PTSD going back to the scene of the crime.
Ya’ll, she found the most perfect dress in just over an hour at our very first appointment.
And perfect it is. *sigh*
AND, it was very close to her budget $$. I was very happy, mostly about the dress, I didn’t care about the budget so much…it’s THE dress for heavens sakes-spend the money!
Were there tears? Yes, but not as many as I had expected. I generally save my tears for when it’s not expected; you know, like when I’m watching a commercial or checking out at Costco.
We are very happy.
Have a safe and enjoyable July 4th weekend. Let freedom ring!. I still LOVE my country although I’d like to toss a lot of the inhabitants off the planet and say Que Sera Sera mo’ fo’s!
That’s it for me this week. I’m going to have a full plate all weekend but I will catch up with what you’re up to very soon, I promise!
XOXO

Oh how exciting! I remember going wedding dress shopping with my niece. I wish you all a safe and happy 4th! xoxo

Oh, such good news. How fun!!! And she will someday tell her grandchildren that she was wedding dress shopping in a mask. I have had one of the roughest weeks of recent years, so I was glad to have my DMV scoop to share as I try to reset. With kids working and less cars than drivers, days are far from dull. My actual pool opens today at noon – guess who plans to be first in line? Hope you find some time to relax this weekend.

UGH I just left a long comment and it erased it. Oh well, if I have to write again. It’s like it knows I love to talk. 🙂
I am so excited for all of you! Finding the dress is SO exciting!! I can’t wait to see and hear all the details!
My husband didn’t go to any proms either. I went to two proms and let me tell you, you didn’t miss a thing.
Happy 4th to all of you! STAY SAFE!

#1. I’ve been on a facebook detox for almost a month and during that time I had so many messages from friends asking if we were okay. hahahah. Yes.. I’m still alive. I’m just tired of looking at Y’all. Seriously, I was a little bit of a facebook o’holic so I guess it did seem weird that I would just drop out for a while.
#2. Before I say anything else, Congratulations on finding the dress!! That’s huge. As a mother of two girls … Oh my gosh, I can’t even describe how much I longed for tequila shots and cleaning toilets over spending full days and weeks looking for dresses. Both of my lovely ladies had a tough time finding things that fit them up top.. Kelly Ripa style.
I always joke that the two things I hated about motherhood was ~ dress shopping and teaching them to drive. My oldest already bought her wedding dress . Thank God. Now.. she just needs to get engaged. hahaha

This is the kind of exciting news that makes me happy for you, for your daughter, for the world. Something so normal has happened even if it didn’t happen in the normal way you envisioned it would.

Aw, glad she found THE dress. It’s funny how when you put the right dress on on you just KNOW that is IT. Definitely a moment you’ll both remember forever.
