Sharing is Caring and I Care Hard. A few years ago I did a favorite things Kitchen Edition, but these today are not related to any ONE thing. And as usual, I’m not compensated for any of my favorites.
A New Dawn
Have you tried the Dawn spray? As if Dawn could be any better than it already is.
I love my countertop tray of Mrs. Meyers cleaning stuff, but occasionally you have to pull out the big guns and I keep my big gun under the counter: Dawn Powerwash spray. I think it’s magical and they are trying to use less plastic with the reusable sprayer.

This spray is great for ridding your dishes/pans of anything greasy, but also it’s a miracle worker on my gas range top. I will admit, that I don’t clean my range top daily; we cook so much, I feel like it’s just gonna get dirty in a hot minute, so why bother? When I finally do a deep clean, I spray this magical potion on it and with a bit of elbow grease, and it’s almost shining like new.
I have special eyes
I love to brag about my good vision…all thanks to Laser Eye Surgery. But the downside I’ve found is that my eyes, much like my personality are dry. I use moisturizing drops a few times a day, but when I wake up in the morning my baby blues greens are redder than green. ONE drop of this and they clear up before someone can ask: “Are you stoned?”

I buy them in a two pack at Costco. Two pack. Two pack. Tupac.
numbr wun dawg

Wait, how did that one eared dog get in here? Lillie hacked my blog!
Honestly though, she is a favorite around here…
Nailed It

I do get a mani-pedi on the regular, but this has been a life nail saver.
You’re supposed to apply two coats and then every other day add another coat and after a week, remove the polish and start over. I generally forget to add the other coats after the initial two. What can I say, I have a hard time following directions. Still, my nails are stronger than they’ve ever been even though I’m constantly digging out weeds, moving rocks, squishing aphids…generally playing in the dirt like I did when I was four.
My True Emotion
My favorite emoji that generally sums up my thoughts about the world and its inhabitants.

Celebrating Bev
In honor of my Mom who would have been 79 today, my dear Friends Dawn and Stacy joined me for Mexican food and a margarita.
A few of my Moms favorite things aside from her family: Mexican food, Margaritas and Latin men. Yesterday I enjoyed all three two of them.
Behold The Blackberry Basil Margaritas; they were as delicious as they were pretty.

When is the last time you had a margarita that was so good you wanted to immerse yourself in the glass?
That’s all the nonsense that’s fit to print.
Actually, my fingers are just tired of typing.
🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
Until next time XOXO

Wow, those margaritas look good! Love the orchid garnish and the skull skewers too!

I am not brave enough for laser vision surgery.
Happy Birthday to your late mom. Good looking margaritas.

I did not know Dawn had a spray. Refillable even. I’m an Ivory girl myself. But Dawn does wonders on grease and I keep it in my laundry room. My cooktop? Not cleaned as often as necessary.
‘Are you stoned?’ – hilarious.
Pictures of Lillie make me smile. It’s no wonder she’s a favorite.
Happy heavenly birthday to Bev. She was so young when she passed. 😦
Love that your friends celebrate her with you.

Ivory? In the kitchen? That is new to me. Or maybe so old to me that I forgot about it?
72 was pretty young; I wish she were still here, she would be so thrilled with SO many things that have happened in the last 7 years.
I have the dearest people in my life.

I’ve tried Lumify and I concur, but man, it’s pricey! I will have to buy the Dawn spray for my stainless cooktop. Good idea! I’m guessing it’s okay for quartz countertops as well? I’ve been trying to find something suitable for the new bathrooms, as it appears everything is a no no with quartz.
Those margaritas look divine!

Lumify IS pricey I agree. But you know to only use ONE drop, right? One drop up to four times a day…and buying at Costco is much cheaper.
I use anything and everything on my quartz; it’s not as finicky as stone. Mrs. Meyers spray cleaner is really nice for quartz countertops too.

I love that Dawn spray as well! I always have it on hand.
I also get a pedicure on a regular basis. After I hit menopause, I started doing it for myself.
I’ll be thinking about your mom all day today. I may even have a drink to cheers her. I’m sending you a hug, dear friend.

Thank you Kari; hugs right back to you.
I think at this point getting a mani/Pedi isn’t ‘treating myself’ it’s NECESSARY UPKEEP and therefore I feel zero guilt.

Definitely necessary upkeep. 🙂

In answer to your question, it was actually just five days ago. My margarita didn’t look as fancy (or purple) as yours, but it was pretty stinkin’ good!

A basic marg is always good!

I’ve got about a million allergies so my eyes always look red like I’m a drunk rabbit. Gonna check out the eye drops. I like the look of those Margaritas which I am able to see clearly regardless of my red eyes.

The drops are a miracle. You only need ONE drop in each eye and can only do that up to four times a day. As per the FDA.

You’re the second person to tell me about that soap, I needs it now. I wish tequila (and margaritas) liked me as much as I like them. Gotta stick to my cosmos 🙂

I do enjoy a cosmo as well. For me, I can only do one margarita, after that, it could be a shit show.

I will never stop loving that photo of Lillie. It’s the best. It makes me smile really, really big. It’s perfect.
Basil is vastly underused in cocktails. It pairs perfectly with fruits and veg. I had a strawberry basil martini once that was dynamite. And why not more basil in bloody marys? Basil and tomato are a match made in heaven.
Your blueberry and basil drink looks gorgeous, but I dislike blueberries. Now blackberry? I’m in.

I love that photo too. I can read her mind: “Mama, let’s get up and eat and play and play and eat and play…”
I agree, Basil is the best and could be used so much more.
Oh crap. I wrote blueberry. It was a blackberry basil marg—-going to change it now. My bad

You had me at those spectacular looking Blueberry Basil Margaritas! WOW!!! *drooling emoticon here* 🙂
For the stove top, I discovered that baking soda (combined with vinegar for those most stubborn stains) removes all my (many) spillover remains as if by magic, it’s extremely kitchen and pocket-friendly 🙂

I do love baking soda; it’s the one-stop shop for cleaning!

Dawn Power Wash IS a miracle and will clean far more than just in the kitchen. I just wish I could find the original Dawn (haven’t been able to find it since the pandemic started; only the concentrated stuff).

I think it was Suzanne who told me about that Dawn product – I use it on my glass shower doors. It works so well to get hard water marks off! I haven’t used it on my cooktop BUT I AM GOING TO NOW.
I used to use that Nail Envy, but now I can’t find it in the places I shop – it’s so great for strengthening! I think I might look online, thanks for the reminder.
Those margaritas look so great, happy birthday to Bev, I’m sure she’s sipping a marg where she is too. xoxo

You can get the OPI online; I believe either Ulta or Amazon.
