We had a quick jaunt to the East Coast this past weekend; a mere 20 hours that included giving away some big checks, visiting with our amazing friends and driving through our old stomping grounds.

Boy have things changed. The high school the Coach and I both attended used to be in the middle of Crack Town. Since we’ve left, it’s all cleaned up and seems to be such an affluent area now. We were all: Man, I remember seeing drug deals going down right where the Cheesecake Factory now resides.

Remember our Songwriters for Vets event we had in June? Well, I say ‘we’, but I’m a teeny, tiny cog in the machine that my husband is driving. Anyhoo, the money was counted and we were able to give a good amount to two different Veteran charities.

Linds was assisting a friend in looking for a rescue pup earlier this week and sent this pic (left) to me stating this dog was at Domestic Animal Services and it’s Lillie’s twin.

I mean, it kind of looks like her, but it’s weird seeing ‘her’ with two ears. I knew the dog looked familiar and not just because of Lillie. The day before I saw this dog on our local lost/found dogs FB group.

Don’t you hate it when dogs just ‘wonder’?

But Thank you Baby Jesus because when I looked today, he’s been picked up by his owners.

Upside Down Nature Porn

I’m so happy I threw that butterfly post together on Monday; you seemed to like it.

You like me, You really, really like me!

I was out perusing the yard yesterday when I saw two Monarchs fighting.

Then it dawned on me, they’re not mad, they’re fighting like a couple in love. ❤️

I know it’s not polite to watch, but I was mesmerized and this reminded me of something.

No, not my honeymoon.

And then it dawned on me!

Raise your hand if you felt this was a was a cringy moment then AND now.

So, have you seen any nature porn lately? Goodness, I wonder how many weirdos who will find my blog now that I typed porn twice.

    Had to laugh at your butterfly porn. I had a post of the same title a few years ago. Thankfully it was the wrong kind of porn to attract creepy followers.

    You outdid yourself with this title! I have no idea what movie that’s from, but I’m glad I didn’t see it. It’s nice when a neighborhood gets nicer, rather than the opposite, but too funny about a Cheesecake Factory in the middle of Crack Town!

  4. Sigh. You have no idea how painful it was for me to see that Wondering Dog post. I almost had to take a pill, but then you subtly pointed out the error and all was well. (You were way more pleasant than I would have been.)

    I feel like no one ever NEEDS another dog (or cat). Some sort of Irrational Hormone kicks in, some sort of Maternal Rescue Adrenalin, and it renders us powerless.

    And bravo on your Big Checks. That’s good work from you both.

    1. The funny thing is I knew who the poster was from years ago. She did graduate from High School. Not sure why some people just can’t get a grasp on simple grammar. It’s also painful for me.

      I think rescue pets find you when it’s the right time. At least, that’s the story I tell myself.

  8. Wondering dogs might be on the rise. He was undoubtedly wondering as to where he was.
    Your butterfly porn reminds me of a meme a friend gave me about birds singing being sex calls and how we’re all LISTENING TO THE BEAUTIFUL BIRDS SINGING while they’re actually sexting. It changes things, doesn’t it? If I have to know these things, you must as well.

      I’d read many years ago something similar, but it was more along the lines of “What if all those bird songs you hear and love are the birds pleading for help?”

  9. I mean, who here doesn’t like giant checks?! Nicely done on helping to raise all that money – it must feel very gratifying!

    I sometimes think it would be fun to get a doggie friend for my dog, but then I remember all the work and double it and I can easily talk myself out of it. Another cat, though…

  10. Great job on the fundraiser, you all rock. Glad to hear your old stomping ground is no longer a needle filled ground.

    Funny about the dog look alike, but glad that the owner was found. One dog has been a lot over here in the previously land of no pets, so hats off to the people who take on more. Why not check the grammar before posting? Goodness.

    My kids like those superhero movies. Me not so much. That scene – ick. It reminds me of the number of times I have little guys at the zoo when we get a very graphic scene playing out right in front of us. Rhinos and zebras . . I’m looking at you, well, actually I usually avert my eyes.

      I believe that grammar isn’t important to everyone.

      I, too, don’t really care for superhero movies. But zoo porn? What’s not to love about that?

  16. Boy, if I thought your next post (I’m reading backwards) had some sex talk going for it, this one is even better!

    Fun fact: I got to hold a big check once. I won $1,000 from a local radio station and they snapped a pic of me holding the big check.They promised to send it to me, but never followed through. Too bad. That would have made a perfect Christmas card to send out.
