This, that and the other thing

I had my annual eye appointment this week. Do you recall that I had my laser vision surgery back in 2015? It was almost two years ago and I’m proud to say that my vision is just awesome. I know it’s not polite to boast, but I am. My right eye (distance) is 20/25 and my left eye (near) is 20/20.
I almost feel like an overachiever.
Ok, If I’m being honest, I actually DO feel like an overachiever.
I do have really dry eyes though and that was the case before the surgery. The Dr. said I can have tubes put in my ducts to help combat that.
When she suggested this, I immediately thought about pool noodles.
No. Thanks.
I’ll just keep the 27 bottles of eye drops I have scattered about in my house/car/purse.
Back in April my girlfriend and I went out for lunch and a margarita to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. What? It’s a thing.
We both had cucumber Margaritas and we declared that they were the best thing ever.
A few weeks later she and I were texting about getting together because the Coach was out of town and we love any excuse to catch up. So, I was thinking it would be great if I tried to make cuke margs for us. Well, I’d just call it serendipity because I didn’t even need to go to the store; I had 3 large cukes in my garden, a full bottle of good tequila, mint and limes. DESTINY.
So, I marinated the mint and cuke in tequila and voila; we had cuke margs and they.were.amazing.
If you care for the recipe, it’s this article here.
The other thing
I almost broke the bank and purchased myself a macro/wide lens for my cellphone.

Actually, it’s gone up $2 since I purchased mine. Supply and demand is alive and well.

I’m amazed at how great the photos/videos are. Who doesn’t want to record caterpillars eating or frolicking on a milkweed flower? Sadly, I can’t figure out how to properly share the videos on blogger. (arrggghhhh)
Happy Humpday!

This, That and The Other Thing.

Edy’s fruit bars. My newest addiction. Nothing screams summer like a nice cold bar of fruit…and only 70 calories; cold, yummy, in my hot tummy.
FYI, summer is not over in SW Florida until Thanksgiving.
In case you wondered, my favorite flavors are tangerine, mango, pineapple, lime, grape and strawberry.

How does it feel to be that informed?

Why the hey are so many people in an uproar about the casting of a porn movie.
Geeze people; chillax.
I mean really. Don’t we have more important things to worry about?!?!
Such as, what am I going to do after the last season of Mad Men is over?

The other thing:
Two of my favorite things have been combined.
Sesame Street AND Dave Matthews.
Seriously. How awesome is that.
I’ve seen Dave in concert at least 13 times and this is the first time he has had a duet with a blue fuzzy monster.

He sings about feelings. Guess what I am feeling?
Yep, I couldn’t love him any more than I already do.

{I’m also feeling pangs of sadness….wishing I could help every person in harms way-some days, it’s tough being a person with a soft heart}

It’s hump day….lets get out there and share the love people!

This, that and the other thing.

I’m sure you were wondering how my baby magnolia trees are doing.
They are doing great and they appreciate the fact that you were thinking about them.

Proof that I do not follow simple directions. (I DO however play nice with others)
After I finished a six pack of these little snackie-snacks (not all in the same day!)
I discovered the ‘peel corners’ at the top. I suppose my hunger stopped me from fully using my brain? Yeah, lets go with that.
I finished this last one THEN I read that it was expired by 6 days.
If you don’t hear from me, I’ve died from guacamole poisoning…..which might be a good way to go.
Speaking of squashed up avocados…did you see the newest commercial from Subway regarding avocado love? Makes me laugh like a hyena. Which is never musical to the ears.

The other thing

These two are not in the least happy about Tropical storm Andrea. It’s bad enough that it’s been raining here daily since last Saturday….now a storm?

As I wrote that, I’m starting to wonder if the rain all week was because of Andrea? I would never know since I don’t watch the news.

This past Saturday lightening hit our house, knocked out our house phone, our electric gate and parts of our wireless network/whole house DVR thingy. {First world problems!}

I’m not complaining one bit….our home is standing and we are as well.
We are fine. Soggy, but fine nonetheless.

Wishing you a lovely and DRY weekend….filled with good stuff like guacamole and hairy sissies.
